Let’s do some straight talking here, no one will consider change unless they are in pain. No one will actually implement change unless the pain of where they are is less than the pain of moving to a better place. That’s it, nothing else to be said on what motivates a business owner to do something different. Business Consultants are supposed to help you through these situations.

So what stops us from changing?

Fear, poor information, lack of confidence, some little noise in your head that says you’re not good enough – the list of reasons is very long. All we can say is that not to change certain things in your business can be catastrophic to your growth, profitability and productivity. If business consultants could help out would it not be worth giving them a call.

Let’s use some team sports analogies – if you were to manage a football, rugby or hurling team without changing, adapting, making substitutions adjusting to the opposition and conditions then it would make sense that you probably won’t do much more than draw the game, it would be highly likely that you wouldn’t win. Most likely you will lose.

If you want to compete, turn up, make a noise in the marketplace then you need to constantly innovate, adjust, get better – business consultants will make a positive difference to your business.

Often we wait for the perfect time, for the conditions to be right, for some development to take place, it might even be we are waiting for permission. The fact of the matter is there is no perfect time. It’s like the old Chinese proverb says “The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago – the next best time is today” so get on with it.
